Short, plain answers to the questions riders ask before they spend money, with the numbers behind them.
Which part of my bike should I upgrade first?
Position first, then clothing, then tyres and chain, then helmet, then wheels, then the frame. The full order with watts-per-pound for each step, and the three things that change it.
Is it worth upgrading my bike?
Usually not the frame, and almost never first. A £2,500 frame buys 0.008 watts per pound. A razor buys 0.62. What that means in practice, and when a new bike genuinely is the right call.
